I’m a British software engineer based in Tokyo — happily employed as Tech Lead at Archaic — and I’m also open to the right freelance and permanent opportunities. If something below matches what you’re hiring for, I’d like to hear from you.

What I’m especially interested in

• Freelance engineering — AI systems. Short or medium engagements building production AI: chatbots, document search, voice, OCR, and the backend that keeps it reliable. Open to remote freelance — I’ve worked with clients in Japan and the UK.
• AI safety and governance. I’m actively considering paths into AI safety and governance — research-adjacent engineering, applied evaluation, or similar. Happy to join as a junior or IC engineer on that kind of work.
• Open to relocation — including the UK. I’m based in Tokyo and open to moving for the right role — elsewhere in Japan, the UK, or internationally — when the work, team, and mission fit.
